Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch are the heirs to Koch family fortune and principal owners of Koch Industries. The corporation, founded by their father, has holdings involved in the manufacturing, refining and distribution of petroleum, chemicals, energy and polymers. It is the second largest privately owned company in the U.S.
The brothers are also known for their financial influence in politics. They have heavily contributed to libertarian and conservative campaigns that work against universal health care and climate change legislation. In 2009, Koch Industries and its subsidiaries spent more than $12.3 million on lobbying.
